Avalanche (AVAX) drew new attention after TIS, a major payments company in Japan, began using the blockchain for its multi-token needs.
Notably, TIS works with about half of the country’s credit card payment service providers.
The move could shape how financial systems in Japan handle digital settlement in the future.
TIS Japan Begins Tokenization Work With Avalanche
TIS is a large technology and payments company in Japan that plays a major role in the country’s transaction network.
The firm supports 85% of branded debit cards used in Japan. It also handles about 50% of credit card payments through its systems.
The company has now placed part of its operations on Avalanche. According to the update, the new platform utilizes AvaCloud.
Essentially, AvaCloud is a service that helps companies operate their own blockchains. This includes scaling, network security, and system updates.
TIS does not need a large internal team to manage the system. Its current payment systems can stay in place while new features are added.
Work between TIS and Avalanche began in June 2024, with a project focusing on tokenized Japanese government bonds.
That would allow bonds to move on a chain rather than only through traditional channels.
Another project, which relates to research on mobility systems, also connects it with Toyota, complementing efforts with SMBC.
The focus there is on its stablecoin business. More work is underway, although details are not yet public.
Japan has experienced significant growth in digital payments, with cashless transactions more than doubling in the past five years.
The total digital settlement volume in the country could reach above $6 trillion once the entire system is digital. TIS aims to have its platform support the industry when the time comes.
The goal is to consolidate various assets and accounts into a single network, where data is visible in real-time.
The company describes its shift as a steady extension of its services. Notably, it is not planning a full redesign of its financial products; rather, it is adding new tools to support future demand for digital assets.
Why AVAX Crypto Was Selected for Payments Growth
Avalanche has placed focus on long-term design with upgrades built on the same core approach rather than changing direction often.
This feature is what is helping organizations like TIS plan ahead. Despite being also active with other chains, it has chosen Avalanche for this launch.
The technology is designed to support multiple separate chains within a single network.

As detailed, the structure may help companies link different services as digital payments expand.
Interest from a large company like TIS may draw attention from similar firms.
Notably, as more services move onchain, the total number of transactions could rise. That would increase the adoption trend happening across Avalanche networks.
AVAX Crypto Price Watches Support and Possible Breakout
The AVAX price stays in focus while these developments unfold. CoinMarketCap data indicate that the coin trades at around $20.
Meanwhile, it has bounced from lower price areas as buyers stepped in near $19.8. This level remains a key zone to hold for more decisive moves
Traders are closely watching the resistance level near $21.50. A move above this zone could show stronger demand.
If that happens, the AVAX price might move toward $23 or even $24, two areas that held prices back in the past.
It is worth mentioning that market activity remains steady and the AVAX daily trading volume shows good adoption.
Price charts show higher lows over recent sessions, a pattern that suggests that selling interest has eased for now.
Currently, investors are positioning themselves to monitor how enterprise use grows.
The TIS launch exemplifies a real-world application that integrates blockchain systems with established financial institutions. AVAX will remain part of that story as tokenization continues to develop in Japan.
