The cryptocurrency market declined by approximately 2% over the past 24 hours, with Bitcoin (BTC) leading the decline as it fell below $ 100,000. Although the performance of these assets was mixed, altcoins also followed BTC’s sequence. The direction of the crypto market remained unclear due to the prevailing sentiments.
Privacy coins continued to maintain their bullish momentum. At the time, the entire crypto market was exhibiting unexpected behavior for the last quarter of the year, which is typically bullish.
Interestingly, the total crypto funding surged, indicating a shift in market sentiment. However, this was not an assurance that bull markets were back, though it gave some hints of such potential.
Bitcoin News: Aggressive Buyers as Supply Shock Looms
The first two signals were bullish in nature. According to data from CryptoQuant author Maartunn, Bitcoin saw aggressive buying on the Bybit exchange. The Taker Buy-Sell Ratio was on average above 10 points, with November 10th being the most bullish, after hitting 20+.
Still, the data from mid-October, when the crypto markets started crashing, indicated consistent purchasing. Sellers were completely obliterated on the Bybit exchange even though most exchanges were dominated by sales. This was the reason why Bybit buys were not enough to reverse the price outlook.

On that note, the amount of Bitcoin on exchanges was facing a supply shock. This was after the count dropped to 2.3 million BTC at the time of writing. All these were bullish for Bitcoin, though the shifting seasonalities in the crypto markets were still a challenge.
Altcoin Volumes Signal Mixed Sentiment: What Does It Mean?
Examining signals in the altcoin market, bears and bulls were nearly equal in their actions. The coins were exhibiting signs of distribution and accumulation, as indicated by the Volume Bubble Map on CryptoQuant.
For instance, Zcash (ZEC) was overheating while its price was increasing, indicating that accumulation was underway. The price of ZEC surged from $500 to $715 in only two days. The volume of Binance Coin (BNB) displayed similarities with that of ZEC, although it was still below the $1,000 mark.

Other major altcoins, such as Ripple (XRP), Dogecoin (DOGE), Shiba Inu (SHIB), Chainlink (LINK), Uniswap (UNI), and Polkadot (DOT), remained neutral. This suggested very little activity, especially after the DOGE price dipped below the $0.20 zone.
There were those whose volume was cooling, including Cardano (ADA) and Toncoin (TON). This was an indication that buying or selling of these altcoins had greatly reduced.
The translation of these sentiments was an unclear market that was yet to decide its direction. That way, the markets could also be shifting to a bear cycle, though there were glimpses of bullishness.
Total Crypto Funding Surges: What’s Next?
While the altcoin market was mixed in sentiment, with a predominantly bearish outlook, except for a few coins, funding was rising. This was a common occurrence during periods of market weakness as traders attempted to buy dips in anticipation of bullish reversals.
According to data from DefiLlama, a total of 6,622 funding rounds resulted in over $130 billion in funding. This was the second-highest total funding since the inception of crypto, behind the November 2021 one. The action was bullish in nature, as it meant adding capital into the markets.

In conclusion, the cryptocurrency markets exhibited three clear signals that the market was shifting, although the direction was uncertain. Bitcoin and total crypto funding were bullish, though altcoins indicated that it was not yet time to go all in. That way, there was still no clear winner in this contest.
