Galaxy Research Maps 2026 Crypto Outlook as Bitcoin Eyes New Highs

Galaxy Digital, the $9 billion company founded by billionaire Mike Novogratz, has released its crypto outlook for 2026. Its team made some of the boldest predictions on key areas like Bitcoin, stablecoins, and other cryptocurrencies.

Bitcoin Price to Hit $250k in 2027

One of Galaxy Digital’s boldest predictions is that Bitcoin price will be too chaotic in 2026. The analysts believe that a new all-time high is possible this year and that the coin will soar to $250,000 in the following year.

Bitcoin price was trading at $87,427 today. That means BTC needs to jump by 45% from the current level to hit its all-time high of $126,250. It also needs to jump by 185% to hit the target of $250,000.

The analysts warned that Bitcoin price remains in a bear market. This view will remain until it fully establishes itself between $100,000 and $105,000.

Technicals suggest that Bitcoin price may have some more downside in the coming months before it bounces back. It has formed numerous bearish chart patterns on the daily and weekly timeframe charts.

A good example of this is in the weekly chart, which shows that the coin has formed a rising wedge pattern. This pattern is made up of two ascending and converging trendlines. It has already moved below the lower side of the lower side of the wedge and the 50-week Exponential Moving Average (EMA), confirming a bearish breakdown.

The coin is now forming a bearish pennant pattern, which is a common bearish continuation signs in technical analysis. It has completed forming the flagpole and is now in the symmetrical triangle zone, meaning that a bearish breakdown is possible.

Crypto Outlook: Stablecoin Growth to Accelerate

Galaxy Digital has maintained its bullish outlook on the stablecoin industry. It has been on a strong growth trajectory over the past few months.

Data compiled by DeFi Llama shows that the market capitalization of all stablecoins in the crypto industry has jumped to over $308 billion this year. It was $208 billion in January.

The surge occurred as users continued to move their cash to stablecoins and as new ones emerged. For example, Donald Trump’s World Liberty Financial launched USD1. It has now accumulated over $2 billion in assets, most of it from the MGX investment in Binance.

Ripple Labs’ Ripple USD (RLUSD) assets grew from less than $50 million in January to over $1.4 billion this year. This growth is likely to accelerate once the GENIUS Act is passed in the United States.

Galaxy believes that stablecoins will overtake Automated Clearing House (ACH) in transaction volume. The company anticipates a surge in volume, driven by the GENIUS Act and the introduction of more stablecoins in the new year.

Companies such as Goldman Sachs, Deutsche Bank, Santander, and BNP Paribas are considering launching their own stablecoins.

The company also expects that one of the top card networks – Visa, Mastercard, or American Express – will route about 10% of their cross-border payments through existing stablecoins.

Privacy, Predictions, and ETF Inflows

Meanwhile, Galaxy believes that privacy tokens like Zcash and Monero will likely continue doing well in 2026. They could continue a trend that started in the fourth quarter of this year.

Galaxy expects the market capitalization of all privacy tokens to grow and surpass $100 billion this year. That will be a big increase as the industry has a market capitalization of $19.7 billion, according to CoinGecko.

Meanwhile, the company expects the booming predictions market to have more room to grow, with Polymarket’s weekly volume surging to over $1.5 billion.

Crypto ETF inflows will also accelerate in 2026, with Galaxy expecting over 50 new launches and the net inflows soaring to over $50 billion. That’s much higher than the $23 billion that happened this year.

In summary, Galaxy has made additional predictions, which can be viewed here.

It is also worth noting that these are just predictions, and their accuracy is not guaranteed. For example, in the last prediction, Galaxy estimated that Bitcoin price would rise to $150k in the first half of the year and $185k in the fourth quarter.
