Shiba Inu Price Faces Short-Term Struggles, But Long-Term Remains Positive
  • A Shiba Inu whale earned over $109 million in profits, signaling strategic investment.
  • SHIB’s burn rate surge may lead to upward price pressure.
  • Experts foresee a bullish outlook for SHIB in 2025, despite short-term volatility.

Shiba Inu (SHIB) has transformed from a meme coin into a significant presence in the cryptocurrency market. With an impressive near 150% price increase over the past year, Shiba Inu price has continued to exceed expectations. However, after reaching a spectacular higher high, its price has begun to decline, signaling a downtrend and potential profit-taking by investors.

In the past 24 hours, Shiba Inu price experienced further decline, driven by a major sell-off from a Shiba Inu whale who offloaded a large portion of their tokens, still walking away with a remarkable $109 million profit.

This sell-off highlights a shift in whale behavior, which often influences retail market sentiment. Large-scale liquidations can trigger fear among smaller investors, increasing market volatility, particularly at crucial support levels.

The big question now is whether this sell-off will spark a wave of further whale liquidations or be viewed as a buying opportunity for others to capitalize on the dip.

Shiba Inu (SHIB) Whale Played Smartly & Yielded Massive Gains

A Shiba Inu whale capitalized on the recent market dip, offloading a significant portion of their holdings to net over $6 Million in profit. This move highlights how well-capitalized investors are taking advantage of market corrections to accumulate more assets. This suggests confidence in digital currencies despite short-term price fluctuations.

According to data from Lookonchain, the anonymous whale transferred an impressive 250 billion Shiba Inu tokens to the cryptocurrency exchange Gemini. This was worth approximately $6.05 Million at the time of the sale.

A deeper look at the whale’s strategy reveals a long-term investment approach. The whale initially purchased 15.28 trillion SHIB tokens on August 6, 2020 for just $3,800.

When SHIB reached its all-time high in October 2021, the value of that original investment surged to an incredible $1.22 Billion.

Despite the recent sell-off, the whale still holds a substantial amount of SHIB. Their current balance is 2.15 trillion SHIB tokens, valued at roughly $52.18 Million at today’s market Shiba Inu price. In total, the whale has realized a profit of over $109 Million from their Shiba Inu investment.

What On-chain Activities Indicates In SHIB Crypto, that could Directly Influence Shiba Inu Price Sentiment?

Despite a significant sell-off by a large whale, market sentiment for Shiba Inu price remains positive. Additionally, 56.31% of addresses, out of 1.37 million total addresses holding balances are in profit. On the other hand, 38.50% of addresses are experiencing losses, and 6.64% are at break-even prices.

The increase in daily active addresses and transactions indicates a rise in user participation.

Shiba Inu crypto has also seen significant growth in large transactions, with over $760.89 Million traded in the past week. These large trades, especially those exceeding $100,000, suggest that whales and other investors are becoming more active in their trades.

Notably, large investors hold 73% of SHIB’s total supply, on-chain data shows.

However, the discrepancy between the activity of these large investors and SHIB’s price movement suggests uncertainty, as investors await clearer signals regarding the token’s next major move.

Analysts believe many traders are accumulating SHIB at current lower prices, intending to sell when prices rise. On the flip side, if these transactions are signaling selling pressure, it could result in further price declines.

In addition to increased whale activity, the Shiba Inu burn rate has surged, fueling optimism among holders. On December 17th, Shibburn reported a staggering 319,571% increase in the burn rate, with 35,713,674 SHIB tokens burned.

The latest data shows a burn rate of 6,181,175 SHIB in the last 24 hours, marking a 69.28% rise. Burning tokens reduces the supply while demand remains steady, potentially contributing to upward Shiba Inu price pressure.

Despite these positive developments, Shiba Inu price has remained suppressed in the short term. Experts believe that an increased burn rate, along with ongoing buying activity from large investors and whales, could potentially trigger a surge in the future.

A Potential 2025 Outlook For Shiba Inu Price?

Despite a slight dip in Shiba Inu price, the overall market sentiment remains optimistic, with many investors still bullish on its long-term potential. While market volatility persists, technical analysis suggests Shiba Inu could see growth in 2025.

The weekly chart indicates a bullish outlook, with a potential peak near $0.0000998. However, the path to reaching this target could involve fluctuations, with possible dips as low as $0.0000234.

Currently, Shiba Inu price is under pressure, with its price dropping 5.64% in the past 24 hours. Trading at around $0.0000241, its market cap stands at $14.4 Billion.
