JitoSOL Tips Rose Above $100M: What’s Next for Solana In 2025?
  • Jito staking pool drove Solana’s success in 2024, with validators adopting Jito’s software at a staggering 93% rate.
  • JitoSOL’s staked TVL surged 125% in SOL terms, reaching $14.3 million.
  • Around 23% of this is used in DeFi applications, highlighting its integration into Solana’s ecosystem.

Solana’s growth has been particularly notable, with the Jito staking pool playing a pivotal role in its success. According to Kairos Research, the Jito protocol surpassed $100 Million in monthly tips. That was driven by its focus on maximizing extractable value (MEV).

Solana continues to solidify its position within the global blockchain ecosystem. With this, Jito’s pool is now used by more than 93% of the network’s validators. Over the past year, the protocol has seen an impressive 32% average monthly revenue growth.

In November, Jito’s monthly income peaked at approximately $210 Million. This highlighted the significant impact of MEV strategies on Solana’s financial landscape.

This surge in revenue underscored the rising dominance of the Solana network. It also highlighted the expanding profitability for validators leveraging MEV practices. MEV has become a key driver of earnings for the network.

The widespread adoption of Jito’s software by over 93% of Solana validators has been instrumental in optimizing earnings.

Jito has significantly enhanced the network’s capacity to generate revenue by enabling more efficient block-building processes. That has further solidified its role as a cornerstone of Solana’s ecosystem.

JitoSOL TVL On Fire: Can It Overtake 2024’s TVL Growth In 2025?

A recent Kairos Research report showed that JitoSOL’s Total Value Locked (TVL) has grown rapidly. Its TVL has surged 125% in SOL terms, with an average daily growth rate of 1.65%.

This rapid expansion highlighted the increasing momentum within Solana’s ecosystem. It set a robust foundation as the network transitions into 2025.

The report also revealed that JitoSOL’s staked TVL had reached $14.3 Million. With this, approximately 23% of it is actively deployed across decentralized finance (DeFi) platforms.

It included lending markets and decentralized exchanges (DEXs). This integration underscored the ecosystem’s productive use of staked assets to drive further innovation and utility.

Looking ahead, Kairos Research expressed optimism for 2025. This cited the upcoming launch of Jito’s (Re)Staking platform and a cohort of new NCNs (Node Consensus Network) as key catalysts.

These developments are expected to fuel demand and propel JitoSOL’s TVL to even greater heights in the coming year.

Solana validators earned more from MEV than their counterparts on Ethereum.

Kairos Research attributed Solana’s recent success to its growing network popularity. This success was also the result of efficient implementation of Maximum Extractable Value (MEV).

MEV enables validators to optimize their earnings by prioritizing certain transactions during block creation. This has contributed to network revenue growth while ensuring swift and reliable transaction execution.

However, this mechanism also leads to increased transaction costs for users. It is a trade-off that has fueled debates within the blockchain community.

In a significant milestone for 2024, Solana’s validators surpassed Ethereum‘s MEV earnings for the first time. This achievement coincided with a sharp rise in transaction fees on the Solana network.

That nearly tripled from approximately 60,000 SOL daily in January to over 150,000 SOL per day by October. Dune Analytics revealed it. This surge reflected the network’s expanding activity and the effectiveness of its revenue-generating strategies.

As of December 26, more than 93% of Solana validators have adopted Jito’s software. It leveraged its tools to optimize earnings from block-building activities, according to developer Jito Labs.

In November, 43% of staking rewards came from MEV

Jito has significantly enhanced staking reward rates across the Solana ecosystem. This was driven by its dominant market share among validator clients. It surged from 48% to an impressive 93% year-to-date.

For its liquid staking token, JitoSOL, rewards derived from MEV consistently bolstered earnings. MEV contributions accounted for 10% or more of weekly staking rewards for 26 weeks of the year, averaging 11.79% throughout 2024.

The peak week witnessed was November 18–25. A remarkable 43% of staking rewards were sourced from MEV, highlighting Jito’s impact on validator profitability.

While LST Growth Was Unique, The Most Notable Growth Was Around Jito Tips

Jito Tips represents priority fees users pay or applications to validators to secure preferential transaction placement. These tips motivate validators to process specific transactions earlier within a block, ensuring faster execution.

The Kairos Research report underscores the importance of Jito Tips. That highlights their current distribution through a permissioned mechanism.

Future improvements are expected with the adoption of JIP-8, which will introduce the decentralized TipRouter NCN system. The TipRouter is modeled as a Node Consensus Network (NCN) akin to an Actively Validated Service on EigenLayer.

Economic security for the TipRouter will be anchored in assets. That would restaked via Jito’s (Re)Staking platform, specifically JitoSOL and JTO. These restaked assets will bolster the platform’s security and receive a share of the distributed tips as an incentive.

The report also highlighted a remarkable performance in Q4 2024. At the same time, total daily tips rarely surpassed $2.5 Million throughout the year. This milestone was reached in 74% of the days in the final quarter.

The surge culminated in a record-breaking $14.7 Million in tips on November 17. This reflected the growing efficiency and utility of Jito’s ecosystem.
