- Cardano surged 126% in Q4, pushing its market cap to $30.3 billion.
- Network activity spiked, with transaction fees rising 254% quarter-over-quarter.
- Analysts see a breakout ahead, with ADA targeting $1.35 if resistance breaks.
Cardano’s price had a strong finish in 2024, climbing 126% in the fourth quarter and pushing its market cap to $30.3 billion. This surge helped ADA move up from the 11th to the 9th largest cryptocurrency by market cap. The rally coincided with the U.S. elections, which fueled broader market momentum.
Massive Growth in Network Activity Fuels ADA’s Rise
According to Messari, the network’s transaction fees skyrocketed by 254% quarter-over-quarter (QoQ) to $1.8 million, a 95% jump compared to the same time last year. Despite the higher activity, the average transaction fee in ADA dropped slightly by 2% to 0.34 ADA, showing that the network efficiently handled the extra traffic.

Daily active addresses rose by 58% to 42,900, while daily transaction volumes jumped by 65% to 71,500. The total value locked (TVL) in Cardano’s decentralized finance (DeFi) sector increased 13% from the previous quarter to $231.6 million. Liquid Finance emerged as the dominant protocol, growing by 141% to $113.6 million, overtaking Minswap, which still saw a 69% increase, reaching $98.9 million.
Bullish Patterns Signal a Potential Cardano Price Explosion
Despite its recent dip from an intraday high of $0.82 to $0.70, analysts believe Cardano’s price is on the verge of another breakout. Rose Premium Signals on X pointed to a falling wedge pattern—a formation that often signals an impending price reversal. According to the analyst, ADA needs to break above $0.9837 for a confirmed uptrend. If successful, the next targets are $1.1619 and $1.3529.

Recent data from CoinShares revealed that ADA saw $1.9 million in inflows last week, bringing its total for the month to $4.4 million. This comes at a time when Bitcoin and Ethereum experienced massive outflows, losing $430 million and $7.2 million, respectively. The data suggests that investors are shifting their focus toward altcoins like Cardano, XRP, and Solana as part of their diversification strategy.
Crypto analyst Ali Martinez noted that Cardano price is consolidating within an ascending triangle, hinting at an upcoming breakout. However, achieving such a high price target would require flawless market conditions and major network upgrades.
