CoreWeave Stock Forecast as Insiders Dump and Jefferies Remains Bullish

CoreWeave stock rebounded on Oct. 15 after suffering substantial losses earlier in the week. Shares closed at $69.69, gaining 5.94% as investors assessed the company’s financial outlook.

The recovery coincided with a Bloomberg report showing that three CoreWeave co-founders had sold approximately $3.3 billion in shares since the company’s IPO.

Meanwhile, analysts remained divided over CoreWeave’s prospects. Some maintained bullish recommendations, while rising borrowing costs and substantial infrastructure spending continued raising concerns.

CoreWeave Stock Faces Scrutiny Over $3.3B Insider Sales

CoreWeave insiders, including its Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Chief Financial Officer (CFO), and Chief Development Officer (CDO), have continued dumping the shares.

Barchart data shows that insiders have executed 48 sale transactions in the last three months and 229 transactions in the last 12 months. In total, these insiders have sold over 55 million shares in the last 12 months.

According to Bloomberg, insiders have dumped shares worth over $3.3 billion, a substantial amount for a company valued at over $38 billion.

Insider sales are usually seen as being highly bearish since these people have more information than the broader market. It could also be a sign that they expect the company will experience some major challenges ahead.

It is also worth noting that insider sales are not always a red flag. In some instances, insiders dump their shares as part of their portfolio management. It could also happen to fund large purchases or even make investments in other companies.

Most notably, in this case, insider sales continued even as Nvidia bought the company’s shares, a sign that Jensen Huang expects its business to thrive. Nvidia now holds 47.2 million shares worth over $3.2 billion. It is the second-largest holder after Magnetar Financial, a company with over $17 billion in assets. Its other holders include companies such as BlackRock, Goldman Sachs, and Vanguard.

Analysts at Jefferies believe that the ongoing sell-off is justified. They hiked the target, saying that the ongoing decline was a gift.

CoreWeave’s Business is Growing, But Headwinds are Rising

The ongoing insider transactions are happening at a time when its business has continued growing. It has become one of the fastest-growing companies in the US. Its recent results showed that CoreWeave’s revenue backlog jumped to over $104 billion in the second quarter as it inked deals with companies like Meta Platforms, Microsoft, Jane Street, and OpenAI.

Top analysts believe that the company’s revenue growth will continue in the foreseeable future. For example, the expectation is that its revenue jumped by 159% in the last quarter to $3.54 billion. For the year, analysts see the revenue rising by 150% to $12.8 billion. It will then hit $26.354 billion next year, a figure that will likely be higher than expected.

The challenge, however, is that the company’s business model is under substantial strain due to its high capital expenditures. It now expects to spend over $39 billion this year, with most of it being borrowed.

There are signs that investors are worried about this debt, with its bonds yielding over 15%. These yields mean that it will need to pay more money in interest, a situation that may worsen if the yields continue rising.

At the same time, Gartner has warned that the company may need to take a large write-down in the coming years as GPUs depreciate.

What Comes Next for CoreWeave Stock?

CoreWeave stock faces competing developments after Thursday’s rebound. Bloomberg’s insider-sale report has increased scrutiny of executive transactions, while analysts remain divided over valuation.

The company’s $104 billion revenue backlog supports expectations for substantial future business activity. However, its investment requirements and borrowing costs remain significant.

Investors will assess whether contracted revenue can translate into stronger cash flow as new computing capacity becomes operational.

Additional insider filings could also provide information about changes in executive ownership.

Technically, the proposed head-and-shoulders formation requires confirmation. A sustained breakdown could expose lower price levels, including the conditional $50 target.

Conversely, a recovery toward $88.80 could weaken the bearish scenario if the reported moving-average level remains relevant.

The central question is whether CoreWeave can convert its contracted AI demand into sufficient cash generation to finance continued expansion.
