Key Highlights:
- Bitcoin demand has remained flat, but large holders continued accumulating
- Retail investors reduced exposure, mirrors the 2020 pre-rally phase
- Historical patterns showed Bitcoin corrected before major price surges.
Bitcoin price action remains puzzling at the moment. The market demand shows no sign of growth, while retail investors sell their assets and ETF withdrawals worry investors. But market analysts have identified a familiar price pattern that typically leads to explosive upward trends.
Meanwhile, the token maintains a current price of $84,235.25, which has increased by 1.10% throughout the past day while holding a market cap of $1.67 trillion.
However, Bitcoin price has decreased by 2.33% throughout the previous week, which signals market stabilization following its drop to the $76k level on Monday. Market participation remains strong based on the current trading volume of $27.19 billion.
Bitcoin Demand Slows, but It’s Not a Bear Market Yet
According to CryptoQuant CEO Ki Young Ju, demand for Bitcoin shows no signs of change, but he refuses to confirm a bear market trend. CryptoQuant data shows that apparent demand has experienced both intense buying and selling patterns throughout the previous year.

Moreover, the data shows that Bitcoin price increases corresponded with positive demand spikes (green marks) yet major price corrections happened during negative demand dips (red marks). Historical market data indicates that demand frequently slows down before initiating a new uptrend phase.
However, Lookonchain reports that Bitcoin ETFs experienced a total of 1,818 BTC ($153.11M) withdrawal on March 14, which Fidelity contributed to with 939 BTC ($79.05M). At first glance, it indicates weakening demand yet institutions and governments continue their buying activities while small investors conduct selling transactions.
Retail Investors Are Selling—A Repeat of 2020?
Retail investor group that holds less than one Bitcoin has started to decrease their Bitcoin ownership.
According to CryptoRank and CryptoQuant data, retail investors have sold 7,000 BTC, which repeats the market behavior from late 2020. Small investors abandoned BTC during that time, but Bitcoin later reached $60,000 within months.

This dynamic is crucial. The market tends to experience a supply squeeze when institutional investors start buying as retail investors sell their assets. Price tends to rise quickly when there is less BTC available for purchase. The same strategic market pattern occurred before Bitcoin reached its past record highs.
Michael Saylor, a long-time Bitcoin advocate, recently remarked, “The fact that you can buy Bitcoin for $80,000 right now is a joke. It’s at a 99% discount.” According to him, Bitcoin’s value remains extremely low because of its future adoption potential.
Bitcoin Historic Pattern Suggests a Parabolic Move Is Coming
Crypto analyst Mister Crypto has observed Bitcoin always performs a price correction before entering a phase of explosive growth. His analysis of past bull runs through the chart demonstrates the token repeats the same pattern during each cycle.

Currently, the market stands where it did during 2020 and 2021 before Bitcoin prices experienced exponential growth. Each time it experienced temporary pullbacks, it eliminated weak hands before its upward momentum began.
The historical patterns indicate BTC will soon experience an explosive price surge that will surpass $100,000.
Adding to this bullish outlook, the U.S. stock market experienced a $1.3 trillion dollar gain yesterday. Strong equity markets in the past have resulted in increased crypto risk appetite, which could potentially benefit Bitcoin through this liquidity flow.
The Calm Before the Storm?
The market shows positive signs despite current short-term uncertainty. Current demand level remains steady, yet major investors continue their purchase activities. Current selling activity among retail investors matches their behavior before previous market rallies.
And historical market behavior indicates BTC is about to experience a major price surge.
