- Trump Media files S-1 with SEC for Truth Social Bitcoin ETF backed by direct BTC holdings
- Crypto.com to serve as custodian, execution agent, and liquidity provider for the proposed ETF
- ETF seeks NYSE Arca listing; joins a crowded market dominated by BlackRock and other major asset managers
Trump Media and Technology Group filed an S-1 registration with the U.S. SEC for a Bitcoin ETF.
The proposed fund, called the Truth Social Bitcoin ETF, plans to hold actual Bitcoin (BTC) and offer regulated exposure to the asset. The move aligns with Trump Media’s broader digital asset strategy under its Truth.Fi brand.
Bitcoin ETF Structure Mirrors Existing Spot Funds
The Truth Social Bitcoin ETF will be a spot product with actual Bitcoin and will follow the market price of Bitcoin. Cash only redemptions will be allowed and the ETF’s custodian will be Foris DAX Trust Company, a subsidiary of Crypto.com.
The ETF will be hosted by NYSE Arca pending regulatory approval and Yorkville America Digital is listed as the sponsor. Daily NAVs will be calculated by the ETF using CF Benchmarks’ Bitcoin Index, and intraday values will be updated every 15 seconds.

In addition, it will publish daily performance data, including premiums, discounts and portfolio information, on a public website. The transparency framework of this ETF matches that of other ETFs approved by firms like Fidelity and BlackRock.
Share baskets of 10,000 will only be able to be created or redeemed by authorized participants, and there will be no in kind BTC delivery. This structure keeps the ETF compliant with the SEC’s preferred structure, which is to avoid direct Bitcoin transfers.
Agreements with CME and the Intermarket Surveillance Group will be in place to monitor the risks of manipulation.
Market Positioning and Political Implications
Truth Social is seeking to expand its crypto presence and take advantage of Bitcoin’s growing institutional interest as it files. BlackRock’s IBIT heads the space in volume and assets, but the ETF joins a crowded field of 11 approved spot Bitcoin ETFs.
But Trump branding makes this ETF stand out, especially among retail and politically aligned investor segments. Donald Trump no longer directly owns Trump Media, but transferred shares to a trust controlled by Donald Trump Jr.
This move keeps the family brand in charge while separating presidential interests from the firm’s crypto ventures. But regulatory critics could also wonder how a president-associated crypto ETF would play out in public markets.
The filing did not reveal a ticker symbol, share price or seed capital and confirms Crypto.com as the exclusive execution partner.
Trump Media also closed a $2.5 billion Bitcoin treasury deal in May, which the ETF is also part of. This crypto ETF will join Truth.Fi’s other planned crypto ETFs and the firm’s growing DeFi infrastructure interest.
Broader Strategy and SEC Review Timeline
Trump Media previously filed for another fund—the Truth.Fi Bitcoin Plus ETF—early this year.
Yorkville and Crypto.com are collaborating on multiple “Made in America” crypto products under the Truth+ ecosystem.
This includes a digital wallet and token system tied to media streaming and internal platform payments.
The SEC now has 45 days to approve, reject, or extend review of the 19b-4 filing. The final decision could take up to 240 days.
Until the S-1 becomes effective, Trump Media cannot market or sell ETF shares publicly.
The Truth Social Bitcoin ETF adds to the ongoing convergence of U.S. politics, crypto infrastructure, and traditional finance.
Competition in the ETF space remains high. Still, the Trump brand may offer a niche edge in an increasingly crowded market.
