Key Insights:
- HBAR crypto price forms a bull flag pattern with potential breakout target near $0.50.
- Strong support lies at $0.22–$0.23 with bullish wave structure intact.
- Institutional adoption and mainnet upgrades boost long-term fundamentals.
Hedera native token, HBAR, appears poised for a breakout after a period of consolidation. Although HBAR crypto price traded lower in the short term, both the chart patterns and the ecosystem’s fundamentals signal a likely breakout to the upside.
At press time, HBAR price traded at $0.24, up 1.54% in the last hour and 2.72% over the past day. Nevertheless, the seven-day chart showed a 9.02% downturn, underscoring the coin’s recent volatility.
Here’s What HBAR Crypto Price Technicals Say
The chart revealed a developing bull flag on the daily timeframe, which signals that the July rally could continue. HBAR crypto leaped from $0.12 to $0.29, marking the flagpole, and later entered a consolidation phase between $0.20 and $0.26.

The key breakout zone rests just above the flag’s upper boundary around $0.26. If confirmed, the measured move projects target zones of $0.43–$0.50.
According to Elliott Wave analysis, a support base is shaping up in the $0.22–$0.23 zone, and price is presently within wave 4. Should HBAR crypto remain above this zone, a Wave 5 rally could push price toward $0.30 and, possibly, $0.35.
Meanwhile, the Heikin Ashi weekly chart signaled a buildup in bullish momentum, with green candles now breaking above the $0.20 zone. Resistance remains at $0.40, and further gains may unfold if this momentum persists.

On the monthly chart, HBAR crypto is currently trading at $0.23866 and rests above the long-term support level of $0.18361. The projections point to a prospective advance toward $0.54274, with eventual resistance at roughly $0.75.
Volume Weakness Raises Short-Term Caution
Hedera’s decentralised exchange (DEX) recorded a peak of more than $15 million in volume on August 14, only to see that figure fall shortly afterwards. By August 16, volumes had declined to $5 million, signalling a 60% decline in the preceding 48 hours.

Volumes rebounded marginally to $6 million, yet they still lagged well behind their mid-August highs. This indicates waning network activity and a near-term sense of caution among market participants.
Despite the subdued pace, derivatives data nevertheless still point to a largely bullish posture. Volume on HBAR crypto futures rose 9.72% to $524.69 million, and open interest increased 7.32% to $411.74 million.
The surge in open interest and trade volume signals intensified speculation and a mounting expectation of a forthcoming upward breakout.
Institutional Traction and Technical Advancements
Real-world traction has been growing for HBAR crypto as conventional financial institutions and tokenization platforms continue to embrace it. Lloyds Bank has undertaken a bond-trading pilot on Hedera, leveraging Archax’s platform and assets held within Aberdeen MMF.
The successful pilot showed enhanced collateral efficiency, reduced counterparty risk and faster settlement based on Hedera DLT infrastructure.
At the same time, Swarm Markets launched tokenized equities such as Apple and Tesla on Hedera. They are fully compliant and 1:1 backed, providing on-demand access and instantaneous redemptions.
A new testnet update (v0.64) for HBAR arrived on August 7, with the corresponding mainnet upgrade slated for August 20. The update streamlines developers’ workflows by enabling dynamic gRPC-Web endpoint discovery and, in turn, prepares the network for higher scalability.
The upgrade brings critical block-stream enhancements, stability fixes, and optimisations to the consensus nodes. These updates seek to enable greater decentralized application deployment and fortify the network’s foundational ecosystem.
Furthermore, HBAR crypto has been accepted into SWIFT’s live digital asset pilot and draws on ISO 20022 compatibility. This strengthens its position in the future of global settlements.
