Bitcoin ETFs See $676M Inflows As Risk Appetite Nears Records

The spot Bitcoin ETF market is flashing bullish, recording consecutive inflows in the past few days. The surging inflows demonstrate confidence among institutional players in Bitcoin (BTC).

It also coincides with a strong risk appetite, one of the highest readings seen in years. Momentum in the Bitcoin market is high as the price climbed above $118,000 overnight.

Bitcoin ETFs Resume Inflow Streak

On October 1, the spot Bitcoin ETFs registered inflows of $676 Million, as spotlighted by Wu Blockchain. This extends a streak of three consecutive days of positive flows into the spot BTC ETFs.

Unsurprisingly, the inflows were led by major issuers like BlackRock, Fidelity, and Bitwise. The iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF (IBIT) from BlackRock saw the highest inflow, reaching $405.5 Million.

Fidelity Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund (FBTC) followed with $179.3 Million. At the same time, Bitwise Bitcoin ETF (BITB) came third with $59.4 Million.

Other issuers, including Grayscale, WisdomTree, Ark Invest, and 21Shares, also recorded minor inflows into their funds. This builds on prior momentum, with the Bitcoin ETFs surpassing $50 billion in net inflows.

Similar to the BTC ETFs, their Ethereum counterparts saw $80.79 Million in net inflows on October 1. The spot Ethereum ETFs also achieved three straight days of gains after a volatile September.

Notably, the latest inflow streak in the spot BTC and ETH ETFs marked a strong start to the fourth quarter. It is often dubbed “Uptober” for historical crypto rallies in October.

Factors such as Federal Reserve rate cuts and rising institutional interest have contributed to the market’s bullishness.

Surging Risk Appetite Fuels Leveraged ETF Boom Amid Bitcoin ETF Momentum

Another key factor to consider is the strong risk appetite among investors. This highlights renewed confidence in the markets. The explosive growth in leveraged equity exchange-traded funds is a testament to this.

Leveraged equity ETFs have surpassed $1.6 billion in total assets. This surge reflects growing investor interest across riskier instruments, including Bitcoin ETF products.

This milestone was recently highlighted by the Kobeissi Letter on X. This is the highest since September 2022 and trails only the $1.8 Billion peak from three years ago.

Leveraged equity ETFs have seen explosive growth in assets since April, increasing by 74% or more than $700 Million. This rapid accumulation aligns with a recovering market post early-year dips, driven by inflows from retail and institutional players.

Over the past 12 months, net inflows into leveraged equity ETFs have hit a multi-year peak, reflecting sustained demand. The Kobeissi Letter emphasized that leveraged ETFs tied to gold mining stocks have drawn the biggest 1-year inflows.

The overall narrative suggests a market where risk appetite is prevailing over caution. Investors appear bullish on equities, willing to take on leverage for potentially outsized returns.

Bitcoin Price Outlook and Projections

Investor risk appetite and strong ETF inflows are fueling Bitcoin’s climb toward the $118,000 resistance level. Support remains firm at $112,000, with momentum from the Bitcoin ETF playing a key role. Some analysts even forecast potential Q4 highs of $180,000 if inflows sustain.

Notably, BTC ended September in the green, with the price increasing by 5.6%. On October 1, the BTC price tested $116,000 as a key support.

The leading coin showed potential for more upside, as demonstrated by surging retail and institutional adoption. Furthermore, technical analysis suggests more gains in the fourth quarter.

The coin remained above the 50-week and 100-week Exponential Moving Averages (EMA), indicating that bulls stay in control. As of this writing, the Bitcoin price is valued at $118,673 per coin. Over the past 24 hours, the coin increased by 1.8%, while the market cap rose to $2.36 trillion.

BTC market activity also increased, as indicated by the moderate surge in trading volume. In the past 24 hours, this metric increased by 9% to $68.8 billion.
