Global markets brace for a whirlwind during the week of October 27–November 2, 2025. Several major events are going to coincide with each other.
This includes advancements in cryptocurrency, central bank decisions, and a high-stakes geopolitical conference.

@CryptosR_Us’ recent post on X highlighted these changes. That sparked interest among investors and analysts.
Crypto Milestone: Hong Kong’s Solana Spot ETF Launch
Hong Kong will open the world’s first spot Solana Exchange-Traded Fund (ETF) on Monday, October 27. On 17 October 2025, the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission approved this action.
The Hong Kong Stock Exchange will be the trading venue for the ChinaAMC-managed ETF. It enables investors to purchase the well-known cryptocurrency Solana without actually holding any of it.
In Asia, where interest in digital assets is growing, this could lead to the increased adoption of cryptocurrencies.
Analysts expect it might attract around $1.5 billion in its first year, although this is less than the Ethereum ETF’s inflows. The launch could spark early market excitement, especially for Solana’s price.
However, some experts note that retail crypto trading in Hong Kong has not fully recovered since 2021. This might limit its immediate impact.
Central Banks and Economic Decisions
On Wednesday, October 29, the U.S. Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) is expected to make a major rate decision. The Federal Reserve, led by Jerome Powell, may lower the interest rates.
The federal funds rate may consequently decline to a range of 4% to 4.25%. Rate cuts usually encourage borrowing and spending, which can boost the cryptocurrency and stock markets. The markets are already assigning a 95% probability to this decrease, so that any surprise could generate volatility.
On Thursday, October 30, rate cuts are also expected from the European Central Bank (ECB) and the Bank of Canada (BoC). These initiatives often follow the Fed’s example and reflect a global shift toward looser monetary policy.
Finally, on Friday, October 31, the U.S. will release the Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) price index. This inflation measure helps the Fed decide future rates. A higher-than-expected PCE could challenge the Fed’s pivot, adding uncertainty to markets.
Geopolitical Spotlight: Trump-Xi Summit
U.S. President Donald Trump will meet Chinese President Xi Jinping on Thursday, October 30. The two leaders will hold a high-stakes summit focused on global diplomacy.
Their discussions will shape the future of U.S.–China relations. This meeting will occur on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in South Korea.
It will be their first in-person talk since 2019, following a phone call where they discussed trade and TikTok’s future in the U.S. The summit could influence U.S.-China trade relations, a key factor for global markets.
Trump has used tariffs to push for fairer trade, while Xi aims to strengthen China’s economic position. Topics might include technology, Taiwan, and Russia ties.
The outcome could either ease tensions or heighten them, affecting investor confidence. This summit, combined with economic data, makes Thursday a critical day.
