180,000,000 XRP Crypto Sold Despite 17% Rally, What Next for Price?

Latest XRP news shows that whales sold 180 million XRP during a 17% climb in 72 hours, raising interest in the next price direction.

Notably, the move occurred as analysts reviewed chart signals and market trends, amid a wide-ranging debate sparked by comments on how XRP behaves during rapid growth phases.

XRP NEWS: Whale Selling Appears as Price Moves Higher

Crypto analyst Ali Martinez shared that whale accounts sold about 180 million XRP while the coin moved higher. The sale came during a 17% rise in a short 72-hour window.

It is worth noting that large holders often take profit when price moves quickly. The sale did not halt the rally, but it did shape the short-term mood.

It is worth mentioning that the XRP price stayed near $2.20 after the strong move. Current trend points to a golden cross on the hourly chart.

The signal formed when a shorter moving average crossed above a longer one. Many traders see this pattern as a sign that the trend could continue.

A similar pattern appeared on October 10. The price later moved to $2.99 and added 7.02% that week.

Some traders now see $3 as the next target if XRP holds above $2.20. Trading volume rose 53.9% to $6.3 billion.

The Relative Strength Index stayed near 56.06, which showed that the market still has space to move.

Price Signals and a Broader Disagreement on Chart Methods

The XRP news formed after commentary from EGRAG CRYPTO. He said that exponential assets do not obey moving averages.

He stated that the 50-MA theory promoted by Benjamin Cowen misled many traders.

In his post, EGRAG CRYPTO said it had no mathematical value for assets that grow on exponential adoption curves.

He also said that Cowen blocked him after he pointed this out. EGRAG CRYPTO explained why he believed simple averages do not fit assets like XRP.

The analyst said moving averages lag because they react to price rather than show where price might go.

He added that growth in these kinds of assets often moves faster than the average can track.

Similarly, he also pointed out that Bitcoin had already broken the old belief that it would not fall below the 200-MA.

Additionally, he said that exponential assets need exponential tools.

His list included exponential regression curves, logarithmic growth channels, macro wave structures, cycle extensions, liquidity models, and AMD models.

He said these tools match the nature of the market better than basic averages.

EGRAG CRYPTO said some people freeze when they see exponential targets.

He reminded the community that he charted $7, $10, $20, and even $27 in the past.

Again, he said only a few believed these levels at the time, and he sees the same reaction today.

XRP’s Long-Term Role and Its Position in the Digital Market

It is important to add that top voices in the industry continue to view XRP as a high potential digital currency.

For example, they point to its use in cross-border settlement and the clearer path after Ripple’s legal case.

Some expect broader interest from financial firms in the future. Others say that XRP has shown a pattern of cycles that depend on adoption, liquidity, and market conditions.

These cycles keep XRP active in trader discussions. In a separate XRP news, market watchers continue to examine long-term paths while watching short-term support levels.

The whale selling, the price signals, and the debate over chart tools may guide the next steps.

Traders will look at the $2.20 level as the key point in the near term. Buyers and sellers will shape the next direction as the market enters its next phase.
