MSTR stock has rebounded sharply as Bitcoin recovered and Strategy strengthened liquidity across its capital structure. Shares recently traded around $123 after gaining more than 30% over the previous week.
Canaccord Genuity responded by raising its Strategy price target to $175 from $130 on Aug. 25. The firm maintained its Buy rating while pointing to improving crypto conditions, recovering preferred shares and a stronger balance sheet.
Canaccord Raises MSTR Stock Price Target to $175
Canaccord analyst Joseph Vafi said the investment setup for Strategy had improved materially over recent weeks. He highlighted both company-specific changes and broader macro conditions supporting Bitcoin and crypto-linked equities.
The $175 target implies roughly 43% upside from the $122-$123 region. However, Canaccord’s valuation depends heavily on assumptions about Bitcoin and Strategy’s premium to its underlying BTC exposure.
Vafi’s model assumes Bitcoin appreciates by approximately 20% over the next 12 months. It also assumes Strategy’s modified net asset value ratio, or mNAV, recovers to roughly 1.2x from about 1.01x currently.
A higher mNAV could make common-equity issuance more attractive for Strategy. That, in turn, could give the company greater flexibility to restart Bitcoin accumulation without creating as much value dilution per share.
Canaccord also cited STRC’s recovery toward its $100 stated amount as an encouraging development. The preferred stock had traded below par during the recent Bitcoin downturn, putting pressure on Strategy’s broader capital-raising model.
That pressure has eased during the latest crypto recovery. Bitcoin’s rebound toward $80,000 has improved the value of Strategy’s treasury while STRC has moved closer to its targeted trading range.
What Does the MSTR Stock Technical Chart Tell
As said, the MSTR stock has give a strong 30% run-up over the past week. Investors are curious whether this is actually a trend reversal or just a bear market recovery.
However, analysts at Cantal Capital have shared an interesting chart for MSTR. They noted that is the stock price break above $136.75 levels, it could have a clear path towards $195. The firm expects the breakout could occur sooner than anticipated, citing the strong momentum currently surrounding MSTR. It identified $195 as the next major upside target.

Strategy Repurchases $136 Million of STRC Shares
Last week, Strategy (MSTR) repurchased 1.43 million STRC shares for $136.4 million and increased its USD reserves by $300 million to $5.1 billion. The latest move gives Strategy more than 3.9 years of dividend coverage on its balance sheet. These transactions were funded through the company’s common stock ATM program.
The strategy behind the increased USD reserves and STRC repurchases is aimed at strengthening the company’s balance sheet. It will also help in supporting STRC as it moves back toward its par value.
Once STRC returns to par, the company could have greater flexibility to resume its broader capital deployment strategy.
MSTR Stock Outlook Remains Tied to Bitcoin
The near-term outlook for MSTR stock remains closely connected to Bitcoin’s next move. BTC’s recovery toward $80,000 has improved Strategy’s treasury position and helped restore confidence in its preferred securities.
Canaccord’s $175 target assumes that recovery continues. Its model requires roughly 20% further Bitcoin appreciation over the next year alongside an mNAV expansion toward 1.2x.
Technically, $136.75 remains the nearer hurdle identified by Cantal Capital. A confirmed break above that level would strengthen the recovery and place its $195 analyst target in focus.
The downside case remains a Bitcoin reversal combined with renewed mNAV compression. Such a move could pressure MSTR even after Strategy’s recent efforts to strengthen its liquidity position.
For now, Strategy has improved its balance-sheet flexibility while absorbing dilution from common-share issuance. Whether MSTR stock extends the rally will depend on Bitcoin, mNAV expansion and management’s next capital-deployment decisions.
