The crypto market has come under some selling pressure after a strong performance and hitting $3 trillion last week. Investors are now closely watching macro events, with US PCE inflation and jobs data due this week. On the other hand, Gold and Silver prices have also crashed to 7-week lows. BTC price is now holding above $83,000, with top altcoins like Ethereum (ETH), XRP, BNB, Solana (SOL), seeing 2-5% drop.
Crypto Market Will Closely Watch Macro Events
After hitting $3 trillion market cap last week, the crypto market is preparing for a busy week of U.S. economic data, with reports on job openings, inflation, economic growth, and employment scheduled for release.
On Tuesday, September 29, the US JOLTS job openings data will be released. On the following day, the core PCE inflation data and the GDP data will come. Furthermore, the non-farm payroll will be released later on Friday i.e. October 2.
Moreover, the U.S. 10-year Treasury yield has climbed 48 basis points this month to 5.23%, its highest level since 2007. September is now on track for its largest monthly increase since April 2024.
The yield is just 5 basis points below its 2007 peak. A break above that level would put it on course to reach its highest level since 2002, Coin Bureau noted.
Since December 2025, the US Federal Reserve has put a pause to the purchase of US Treasury bills. Its balance sheet remains about $209 billion higher over that period. US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessant has shown intent to potentially restart the purchases.

Bitcoin Price Eyes Bullish Retest At $82,000
Popular crypto analyst Ali Martinez noted that the Bitcoin price has broken of a double-bottom pattern. Thus, BTC is now moving towards the neckline support at $82,000.
According to the analyst, if the level holds as support, the retest could present a buying opportunity. Martinez believes that the next BTC price target for $100K could arrive as early as the end of October.

Another crypto analyst, Crypto Patel, said that the daily close of Bitcoin price above $82,500 is important to watch here. This confirms a higher-timeframe change of character (CHoCH) after breaking its previous lower high and lower low structure. BTC subsequently climbed to $87,368, although Patel said a new higher high has not yet been confirmed.
Patel added that Bitcoin has faced resistance in the $90,585–$84,694 bearish order block and fair value gap region. The analyst’s higher-timeframe bullish outlook remains intact as long as BTC maintains its bullish structure.

Altcoins: Ethereum To Have Best September Closing
Along with Bitcoin, the overall altcoin market has also shown good strength over the past month. Ethereum has been leading with a 10% upside on the monthly chart, while XRP, SOL, ZEC, HYPE, and DOGE have contributed larger gains.
Ethereum is up 11.6% so far in September, putting ETH on pace for its strongest September since 2016. It would also mark only the fourth positive September for the cryptocurrency over the past decade. With three days remaining in the month, ETH still has an opportunity to secure the milestone.

Analyst Michael van de Poppe stated that current crypto market volatility could trigger a corrective phase. He’s adding a bit to his cash positions as of now. However, Poppe expects any pullback to be relatively mild, followed by a recovery into Q4. Van de Poppe added that he remains bullish on the fourth quarter.
