Toncoin Volume Rockets 70% as Robinhood Lists TON, Will Price Follow?

Key Insights:

  • Robinhood has added Toncoin for U.S. customers, expanding its overall retail trading strategy.
  • TON price rose 5% intraday as volume climbed to $304.37 million or over 70%.
  • Telegram and institutional support continue to shape Toncoin’s overall outlook.

Toncoin trading volume rose by more than 70% on August 28, 2025, after Robinhood listed the coin for U.S. customers.

The listing news also fueled the price of Toncoin, which moved up by 5% during the day before settling lower.

Through the listing, Robinhood has continued to expand its range of supported cryptocurrencies.

Robinhood Listing Pushes Toncoin Volume

Robinhood added Toncoin to its trading platform for U.S. customers on August 28, 2025.

Robinhood confirmed the move through an announcement on X.

Notably, the addition followed the exchange’s recent listings of SUI, FLOKI, ONDO, and Hedera.

The news quickly reflected in Toncoin’s trading activity. Data from TradingView showed that the coin rose from an intraday low of about $3.11 to $3.24, before easing to around $3.21 later in the day.

The TON price gain was supported by a strong rise in trading volume, which jumped 74.64% to $304.37 million.

Toncoin’s market capitalization also climbed to $8.08 billion, placing it among the 25 largest cryptocurrencies by size.

The performance drew attention as Robinhood continued to widen its cryptocurrency coverage for retail customers.

Robinhood has been adding new tokens steadily. Just a week before the Toncoin update, the commission-free brokerage firm had listed SUI.

Earlier in the year, tokens such as ONDO and FLOKI also became available on the app.

According to Robinhood’s official website, the platform had 26.7 million funded accounts with total assets of about $298 billion.

In its second quarter 2025 financial report, the company said that its crypto trading volume rose 32% year-over-year to $28 billion.

The listing of Toncoin was seen as part of Robinhood’s strategy to attract more trading activity.

Toncoin’s Position in the Market

Toncoin is the native asset of The Open Network, a blockchain that was developed with close links to Telegram.

Earlier in 2025, Telegram adopted TON as its official blockchain to support its growing Mini Apps system.

This gave Toncoin exposure to Telegram’s one billion users worldwide. Partnerships have also supported the TON ecosystem.

Data from DeFiLlama showed that the stablecoin market cap on the blockchain rose to about $708 million after a collaboration with Tether.

Despite this, the total value locked on the network fell from a high of $751 million in July 2024 to around $145 million at the end of August 2025.

In addition, institutional interest added to Toncoin’s market story.

Chorus One, a blockchain infrastructure company, launched an institutional staking pool for TON earlier this year.

The pool reached 10.4 million TON, valued at about $33 million. This gave large investors a way to participate in the staking program and increased the coin’s visibility.

Signs of a Revival Ahead?

It is important to mention that there have also been moves to include Toncoin in corporate treasuries.

Nasdaq-listed Verb Technology disclosed in 2025 that it had purchased $713 million worth of TON.

The company planned to hold more than 5% of the token’s total supply.

If more companies follow the same approach, the supply of TON in circulation could tighten, affecting its price over time.

The Robinhood listing has given Toncoin a new channel to reach U.S. retail investors.

The reaction in the price of TON showed strong initial demand, but it later settled lower as trading stabilized.

Analysts noted whether this leads to a long-term revival will depend on how the wider altcoin market performs.

Notably, this also adds to the success of Telegram’s efforts to expand blockchain use through Mini Apps.

Toncoin remains an important asset in the market, backed by Telegram’s user base and institutional involvement.

The sharp increase in trading volume on August 28 showed that the listing on Robinhood drew attention.

How much of this momentum will last remains a key question for investors watching the coin’s next moves.
