Shiba Inu crypto developers have proposed a supply redenomination for SHIB on ShibChain. Notably, the move aims to reduce token count while keeping total value unchanged.
The plan has drawn mixed reactions as the community weighs its impact amid the token’s falling price and weak market sentiment.
Shiba Inu Crypto Redenomination Plan and What It Means
The team behind Shiba Inu has shared a new proposal to adjust the supply of SHIB through redenomination. The idea is to cut down the number of tokens in circulation while increasing the value of each token, keeping the overall market value the same.
According to Shibburn, the plan would apply to ShibChain, the project’s Layer 1 network. For example, if the redenomination ratio is 1,000 to 1, a wallet holding 100,000,000 SHIB on Ethereum worth $1,000 would become 100,000 Shiba Inu crypto on ShibChain.
In addition, each is worth $0.01. The total balance will stay the same at $1,000, but with fewer tokens. The goal, according to developers, is to create a cleaner supply that makes SHIB easier to manage and trade.

Still, this change does not increase the project’s total market value. It instead changes the number of tokens people hold.
The SHIB community has reacted with mixed feelings. Some holders believe this plan could make SHIB look more valuable and easier to use. Others think it does not solve the real problem of the token’s weak fundamentals.
A few users say the move may only make the numbers look better without giving SHIB more real-world use.
Online discussions about the proposal have spread quickly, with many asking for more details on how it would be done. Some are also asking whether it would affect SHIB held on exchanges or wallets outside ShibChain.
Shiba Inu Burn Rate Shows Modest Recovery
While the redenomination proposal dominates attention, SHIB’s burn rate has shown slight improvement.
Data from Shibburn shows 69,920 tokens were burned in the past 24 hours, a 0.72% rise. However, in the past seven days, the total number of burned tokens dropped by 32.17% to about 48 million.
The total supply of Shiba Inu remains very large, around 589 trillion tokens. It has a market capitalization of about $5.9 billion. Meanwhile, the token’s price stands near $0.00001003, down almost 2% in the past day.
Token burns are meant to reduce supply and create scarcity, but the size of SHIB’s total supply makes it hard to see big effects from small burn numbers.
Some Shiba Inu crypto holders believe that if larger burn events or consistent reduction continue, it could help improve price stability over time. Still, many analysts say that burns alone may not be enough to lift SHIB’s value unless the project adds new uses that attract more demand.
SHIB Price Struggles After Market Selloff
The recent drop in the crypto market has pushed Shiba Inu’s price to its lowest level in months. The token fell below the key $0.000010 support after the broader market declined due to global tariff tensions and weaker investor confidence.
Charts show that SHIB has broken out of its long-term trading pattern and continues to face selling pressure. The 200-day moving average has started to turn down, showing weaker momentum.
The Relative Strength Index, which measures buying strength, is near 30, a level that suggests the token is oversold.
Analysts say Shiba Inu crypto might find its next support around $0.000008 if the current trend continues. For a recovery to happen, the token may need renewed interest or strong developments within the Shiba Inu ecosystem, such as projects on ShibChain that give it more purpose.
