Key Insights:
- JustLend TVL spikes above $5.5B with sharp May inflows.
- Tron leads Ethereum in USDT on-chain supply.
- TRX holds strong as stablecoin issuance accelerates.
Tron’s (TRX) DeFi ecosystem is gaining traction. Lending activity exploded on the network in May, and stablecoin dominance followed suit. In two major shifts, TRON’s decentralized finance momentum has been accelerating, as it surpassed Ethereum in USDT supply for the first time and JustLend’s Total Value Locked (TVL) jumped by over $1.5 billion.
In a volatile market, the token is unique in that it is growing in tandem across TVL, stablecoins and price. The alignment of these metrics is attracting retail and institutional investors to the ecosystem as capital rotates.
Lending Activity Surges as JustLend TVL Rockets Past $5.5B
While the first quarter was subdued, lending activity on Tron is booming. In May, TVL on the network surged by more than $1.5 billion on JustLend, the leading DeFi lending platform on the network.
The sharp inflow pushed the protocol’s TVL up to over $5.5 billion by late May, the highest since January 2025 and a huge jump from the sub-$4 $4 billion range earlier this year.

Weekly percentage changes in TVL have also flipped green, showing increasing user engagement and liquidity.
The largest surge since late 2023 indicates that both new capital and existing users are flowing back into the protocol. This is a sign of renewed confidence and broader activity in the token`s lending markets.
In addition, TRON’s stablecoin liquidity is highly correlated to this growth. The deeper the lending pools become as more USDT circulates on the network, the more attractive JustLend becomes for borrowers and lenders.
Tron Tops Ethereum in USDT Supply Amid Stablecoin Boom
Meanwhile, Tron has officially overtaken Ethereum in total USDT supply. According to CryptoQuant, as of late May, TRON has 75.7 billion USDT on-chain versus 73 billion on Ethereum.
This is the first time it has led in this category, as the blockchain has continued to rise steadily since early 2023.

The shift is largely because of TRON’s low fees and fast transactions which have become more attractive to users looking for efficient stablecoin transfers.
The reason why the network is a cost-effective blockchain for value transfer is becoming more apparent as retail users and institutions alike increasingly prefer TRON as a stablecoin network.
Transactions are only the tip of the iceberg. DeFi protocols are fed USDT liquidity. With TRON being the leading chain for Tether, it now provides more liquidity for lending platforms such as JustLend.
TRX Price Holds Strong as FDV Climbs Nearly 20% in May
This ecosystem-wid growth has not shaken the TRX token which has remained stable and resilient. In May, its Fully Diluted Valuation (FDV) increased by 19.7%, to $25.8 billion.
While there was some market volatility in March, the cryptocurrency remained above $0.24 in a month when over $4 billion in USDT was minted.

Traditionally, such large stablecoin inflows have caused short-term price dips, but TRX has bucked the trend.
This stability indicates robust underlying demand as well as the confidence of market participants. Artemis shows a steady green trend which supports bullish sentiment.
On-Chain Metrics Align as Capital Rotates Into TRON Ecosystem
Now, multiple on-chain indicators are pointing to a wider shift of capital to TRON. The network is growing on all fronts, from lending metrics to stablecoin issuance and price action.
In May, minting of more than $4 billion worth of USDT on the TRON blockchain occurred, but burn activity was almost non-existent.

Total supply of stablecoins is almost crossing $80 billion. The latest data from CryptoQuant show that supply has been growing consistently each month from March through May, after a long period of stagnant supply.
This observation is consistent with what the data says: capital entering TRON is not exiting quickly; it’s staying put and deepening liquidity and confidence. With soaring TVL, rising USDT dominance and price stability, the picture is looking bullish.
