The latest Ethereum news features the hacker who stole almost $50 million from Radiant Capital in October 2024 is back in the market.
This time around, the hacker placed a big bet on Ethereum (ETH), turning his stolen funds into profits.
The shift towards ETH comes amid recent momentum in the digital asset. ETH, the second-largest crypto by market cap, has recently hit a new all-time high (ATH).
About the Radiant Capital Hacker Blowout
Lookonchain said the Radiant hacker recently executed a profitable trade with ETH. Three days ago, they bought 4,913 ETH at an average price of $4,168, valued at about $20.47 million.
Subsequently, the hacker sold 4,131 ETH, worth approximately $19.52 million at $4,726 per coin, earlier today. Thus, in just three days, the Radiant hacker has gained approximately $2.76 million on this specific trade.

This and other trades quickly pushed the hacker’s $49.5 million stolen stash to over $105 million, representing a 114% increase.
Their crypto portfolio consists of 13,008 ETH, valued at $61.73 million, and $42.46 million worth of DAI. The hackers also hold smaller amounts of DECT and RDAC tokens.
The growth in the hacker’s profits is attributed to the recent rally in the price of ETH. Rather than a deliberate investment strategy, the hacker is leveraging market volatility.
The Ethereum price surge has climbed past $4,700, driven by factors like inflows into the U.S. spot ETH exchange-traded fund (ETF).
According to CoinGlass, the ETH ETF, which began trading in late July 2024, has amassed a total AUM of $22.03 billion.
Moreover, data from Farside Investors revealed inflows into ETH ETFs amounted to $333.7 million on August 22, 2025.
On this day, FETH from Fidelity Investments came first with inflows reaching $117.9 million. BlackRock’s ETHA followed behind with inflows of $109.4 million.
Ethereum News: ATH in Price and Open Interest
In another Ethereum news, the coin’s price is now in the spotlight due to its latest performance. Per data from CoinMarketCap, ETH was valued at $4,722, demonstrating a 10.8% increase over the previous day.
Crypto analyst Ted Pillows reiterated in an X post that ETH has printed a fresh all-time high. Ted highlighted the $4,600 support as a key factor to determine ETH’s future moves.
According to Ted, the ETH price could hit new highs if the $4,600 support continues to hold. However, if Ethereum tests deeper, $4,370 would act as the next support.

Notwithstanding, Ethereum has continued to make waves in key metrics. CryptoQuant analyst J. A Maartunn revealed that ETH open interest (OI) has clinched a new ATH of $34.5 billion.
Historically, rising open interest has often preceded sharp price movements due to increasing investor interest.
Many market participants believe this trend will continue in the current market cycle, with rising targets of $5,000.
Sustained Institutional investments in Ethereum
Another thing to note is that the surge in ETH price and OI is largely attributable to the spike in institutional engagements.
Since July, ETH treasury firms, including BitMine and SharpLink, have continued to accumulate the leading altcoin.
BitMine recently purchased 52,475 ETH coins, worth about $220 million. Similarly, SharpLink added 143,593 ETH, valued at $667 million, to its crypto portfolio.
The support of these firms suggests confidence in the future price direction of ETH.
The U.S. government has also joined the ETH accumulation strategy. Recent data provided by Lookonchain revealed that wallets linked with the U.S. government received 76.56 ETH from Coinbase.
However, it is important to note that the U.S. government is not an active crypto investor. The ETH holdings are part of the crypto stockpile officially created by the U.S. back in March.
